Factories are equipped with many sensors tracking machine health and production data. Despite this, machines are still failing, errors still occur, and gaps in awareness persist. This is because factory supervisors continue to have a glaring blind spot in their operations: human actions.

Tristar AI helps factory supervisors eliminate errors and downtime, reduce scrap, and more. Our first-of-its-kind platform fuses data from human operations with machine and sensor data to give managers a complete view of the factory floor. We do this using smart cameras equipped with cutting-edge human action recognition software born out of research at Harvard and MIT.

Until recently, vision technology has struggled when applied to understanding complex actions carried out by factory workers, relegating its use to niche applications. Tristar AI overcomes these barriers by using an approach akin to Lego blocks in which human motion is analyzed as a combination of small actions (i.e. raising an arm, rotating a wrist, etc.) which together form a more complex and more meaningful action (i.e. lifting a box, turning a valve, etc.). Practically speaking, this breakthrough approach enables Tristar AI smart cameras to be quickly trained to recognize virtually any human task.
